Best of Britain & Ireland is something brand new, innovative and imaginative.  It will be a major domestic tourism event, an annual celebration of Britain and Ireland tourist destinations, and a showcase of the best that Britain and Ireland have to offer.  The credit crunch and a strong euro, concerns about environmental issues, and increasing media coverage of domestic holidays means that there has never been a better time to promote domestic tourism.

Organised in partnership with VisitBritain and all the National Tourist Boards, Best of Britain & Ireland already has tremendous industry support and is set to be the centerpiece of British Tourism Week 2009. British Tourism Week raises national and international awareness of the size, value and importance of Britain's £86 billion visitor economy and has enjoyed the patronage of HRH The Prince of Wales.

This high-profile event will be doing more than just celebrating the best of Britain and Ireland - it will be selling the best of Britain and Ireland to the UK and international markets.  With domestic tourism at an all-time high, this is your chance to present yourself among the Best of Britain and Ireland.

  • For the first two days (26-27 March) Best of Britain & Ireland will operate as a high-profile, purely trade event for the UK domestic travel industry, separately branded as the Best of Britain & Ireland Travel Trade Forum.
