Tourism Technology Annual Forum a flying success!
The Duxford Imperial War Museum was an inspiring backdrop for the latest very successful New Vision Annual Tourism Technology Forum. The historic setting proved popular with our guests, many of whom rounded off the day with a fun and informative tour of the museum.
New Vision, headed by Ben Tagg (MD), welcomed many long-standing and new clients among the delegates. "The event is a great way for our clients to learn more about system features, recent enhancement releases and future development plans" explained Ben. He added, "There was a real buzz around the relaxed setting, creating a great opportunity for delegates and New Vision to network, share ideas, inspirations and experience."
The relaxed and informal day kicked off with a thought-provoking talk by Olympic Rowing Gold Medallist Martin Cross, one of Britain's most successful ever rowers. Martin gave a fascinating insight into the unique mindset of outstanding winners, demonstrating how his own proven approaches and techniques can help destinations ‘win' in these tough times. Delegates were even treated to a hands-on view of his medal!
With preparations for the 2012 Olympic Games well underway, Andrew Daines from VisitBritain gave a vision of the massive scale of the opportunities that lay ahead, providing insight on how to capitalise on the opportunity to develop new markets, reinvigorate the UK's appeal in core markets and challenge consumer's perceptions of Britain. "This is a time", he said, "not only for improving the ‘welcome' we extend to the world but also to win new events."
Ben Tagg demonstrated how New Vision's latest product developments and enhancements are perfectly positioned to capitalise on the trend for increasing numbers of online bookings. Our range of integrated tools, such as inward polling, wholesale distribution and affiliate websites all play a part in extending the reach to a wider global audience.
Our web team has been crafting some innovative and inspirational websites for several clients, with an emphasis on data integration, e-commerce, special offers and e-personalisation among some of the features being incorporated to maximise online presence and revenue streams.
Which leads us neatly on to the growing trend in user generated content or UGC. "Customers are increasingly more influenced about where to stay and places to visit by peer driven insights rather than marketing blurb" explained Richard Spencer from Cloud. Find out more about how to drive more visitors to your website and increase revenue through higher booking numbers with the New Vision My Recommendations module.
Particularly well received was the programme of lively, hands-on workshops, as well as demonstrations of the enhanced Roomcheck, the eagerly awaited Guestlink v3 with lots of brand new functionality and mobile technologies. "Making your website available to your clients while they're on the move introduces a whole new dimension to online marketing and e-commerce" explains Clare Tagg, Head of Developments. We have already starting working on mobile websites for some of our clients. Watch this space!
In summary, the Annual Forum was yet again packed full of information, learning, knowledge-sharing and networking. We thank all our clients for their excellent and valuable feedback. We're already looking forward to next year's event!
